What a great surprise this was to wake up to today! "Sugar Race ~A Strange World and a Distorted Crown~" is arriving tomorrow! The PV for this event was so cool! I loved the animation style they went with, it's so much more cutesy and soft than their other PVs have been. The music throughout the video even sounded like "Sugar Rush"!
All of the cards have been revealed as well, and wow! This might be my new favorite set of event cards, they all look amazing! Even the R cards do, as everyone's outfits are adorable. My favorites would have to be Idia, Lilia, and Jade. Jade's especially is so fricking cute with the way he's nomming on that candy.
I really love how each of the characters are inspired by the different racers in Sugar Rush. Trey and Lilia are Ralph and Vanellope respectively, of course. Cater is Taffyta, Jade is Swizzle, Vil is Crumbelina, Rook is Rancis, Malleus is Candlehead, Deuce is Gloyd, Jack is Jubileena, Jamil is Snowanna, and Idia is Adorabeezle.
And, of course, we cannot forget the star of the show, Nougat! He looks absolutely fantastic, like my expectations for him were very high but his final design blows it out of the water. The fact they were able to pull off King Candy's hair by making the front of Nougat's hair a peach color is so clever. There's so much detail and references in his outfit, it's a real shame he isn't getting a card. I love the addition of the microphone as well.
I'm so excited for this event and it's story tomorrow!!!
